The new @magoebaskloofsportsvillage (MSV) is where you will find the 2022 Magoeba Trek race village.
Directions to the Magoebaskloof Sports Village from Magoebaskloof/Tzaneen along the R71:
•Drive 23,5km from Allesbeste, past The Magoebaskloof Hotel and the Pot n Plow. Turn left onto the HTA dirt road. (This is a hazardous part of the road, so be sure to slow down and indicate.)⠀
•Continue along Ebenezer Dam on the dirt road for 1,4km. Drive past the first Venstrat signboard. Turn left at the second Venstrat signboard.⠀
•Continue through the pine plantation for 400m, after which you will find parking on the old soccer field. ⠀

Directions to the Magoebaskloof Sports Village from Haenertsburg/Polokwane along the R71:⠀⠀
•Drive 6,7km from the Haenertsburg filling station, past Stanford Lake College. Turn right 200m after Blueberry Heights Farm. (This is a hazardous part of the road, so be sure to slow down and indicate.)⠀
•Continue along Ebenezer Dam on the dirt road for 1,4km. Drive past the first Venstrat signboard. Turn left at the second Venstrat signboard.⠀

Those acquainted with Rocky Horror will relate wel

Those acquainted with Rocky Horror will relate well to this, but allow us to paint a picture for those who have not met the now infamous climb.

In the past, those participating in Magoeba Trek’s Race encountered this beast during the 68,7km long Queen Stage on Day 2, which saw things starting relatively flat and fast along the Broederstroom River for both the Race and the Trail’s riders. Cyclists then rode through Consolata Farm, around Ebenezer Dam, and onto the beautiful water point at the Bergplaas Picnic Spot.

The mountain goats who signed up for the Race continued towards the Wolkberg Wilderness Area until they reached the Mohlapitse River. After crossing the picturesque river separating the northern Drakensberg and Strydpoort mountain ranges, cyclists finally came face to face with Rocky Horror at 31,8km into the stage.

In 2022, due to the new location of our race village at the @magoebaskloofsportsvillage , some stats such as the total distance for the stage may vary slightly, but for the most part, things such as Rocky Horror will remain the same.

Rocky Horror, which is 4,46km long with 490m elevation gain and an average incline of 10.4%, is one heck of a climb that will test the toughest of the tough. When cyclists reach the top of Rocky Horror, they deserve a massive pat on the back, but they must muster up the courage for another 9,58 km until they get to the Iron Crown, which at 2126m is the highest peak in Limpopo. From here, they head down a hiking trail back towards Haenertsburg and ultimately the race village, by which time they may or may not be seeing stars.
