The Race (70km) “all in” team option in a standard tent:
R11 500 per team (R5750pp) Includes entry fee as well as shared accommodation for three nights in a standard two man tent with a mattress, all your meals and a race garment. Participants have to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow.
The Trail (40km) “all in” team option in a standard tent:
R10 500 per team (R5250pp) Includes entry fee as well as shared accommodation for three nights in a standard two man tent with a mattress, all your meals and a race garment. Participants have to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow.
The Race (70km) own accommodation team option:
R8400 per team (R4200pp). Includes entry fee and as well as lunch in the race village as well race garment, but participants arrange their own accommodation outside the race village at a B&B etc.
The Trail (40km) own accommodation team option:
R7400 per team (R3700pp). Includes entry fee as well as lunch and dinner in the race village as well race garment, but participants arrange their own accommodation outside the race village at a B&B etc.
The Race (70km) GLAMPING TENT “all in” team option:
R13 000 per team (R6500pp) Includes entry fee and shared accommodation in a bigger more comfortable tent with a stretcher and mattress for three nights, lantern and bedside table as well as all your meals and a race garment. Participants have to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow.
The Trail (40km) GLAMPING TENT “all in” team option:
R12 000 per team (R6000pp) Includes entry fee and shared accommodation in a bigger more comfortable tent with a stretcher and mattress for three nights, lantern and bedside table as well as all your meals and a race garment. Participants have to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow.

Limited numbers – total of 15 tents only.
Accommodation will be in the form of a tented camp with ample clean toilets and hot showers. The venue boasts a large function area which will be perfect for catering, refreshment centre, chill zone and race office. Other facilities will include bike-wash, bike mechanical support, wellness area and more.

Magoeba Trek is a Cycling South Africa (CSA) sanctioned event and as such CSA rules apply. All riders must carry a valid CSA license.
Riders
1. All riders entering the Race must be 19 year or older on the first day of the event
2. All riders entering the Trail must be 15 years or older on the first day of the event
3. The team age category is based on the age of the youngest rider
Bicycle
1. Only mountain bikes are allowed
2. Bikes must be in good working order
3. A rider must start and finish the race on the same bike
4. The official Magoeba number board must be securely attached to the bike
Clothing and Equipment
1. A cycling helmet is required at all times during the race
2. Footwear must be enclosed
3. Appropriate riding attire, including a shirt, must be worn at all times
4. Eye protection is strongly recommended
5. At least 1 L liquid capacity for the Race and 500ml for the Trail
6. It is strongly recommended that each rider carry a mobile phone in case of emergency
7. Any personal medication required (e.g. epi pen) should be carried
Route
1. Riders must complete the entire distance of the race and responsibility for following the official route lies with the rider
2. A rider is not permitted to take any shortcuts or to omit a circuit or take other advantage of a similar nature against opponents.
3. If the rider exits the route for any reason, he/she must return to the route at the exact same point from which it was exited
4. Sections of the route are on district roads and The Magoeba does not have exclusive use of these roads. Please look out for of other traffic. Normal traffic regulations apply.
5. Compulsory portage sections will be signed as such. Riders must get off their bikes and walk/run from the point indicated and must not get back on until the signage or marshal instructs them to do so.
Assistance
1. A rider may receive technical assistance on the course from another rider but not from anyone outside the course
2. Outside seconding, feeding or assistance is permitted at Water Points only
3. Seconding vehicles are not permitted to follow the race route
Code of conduct
1. Riders are expected to be polite at all times, not use abusive or offensive language, adhere to instructions given by officials and act in a sporting manner
2. Riders should allow faster riders to overtake without obstructing
3. Please respect the beautiful landscape you are cycling through and do not litter.
Timing
1. Due to the size of the field, there will be no seeding of riders on Day 1. Seeding based on overall race position will be done on Day 2 and 3 for the top 6 teams in each race.
2. Riders must ride with his/her partner at all times
3. Riders who are separated by more than 2 minutes from their team partner at the Start and Finish will receive a time penalty of 1 hour
4. 3 time penalties will result in disqualification of the team
5. Team time will be based on the time at which the second team member crosses the line.
6. The finish line will be closed at 5pm on Friday and Saturday and 2pm on Sunday. Any riders still on the course will be collected by the Sweeper vehicle and considered as not finishing the stage.
7. Cut off times may apply at certain points on the route and differ per stage. These will be communicated in the daily briefing. Any riders still on the course at the cut off time and point will be collected by the Sweeper vehicle and considered as not finishing the stage.
Disqualification and Penalties
Teams may be disqualified at the discretion of the Commissaire/ Race Office for infringement of the above rules. Where additional rule interpretation is required or where specific provision for any incident has not been made in these rules, the decision of the Commissaire will be final.
Accommodation provided is a 2 man dome tent + 2 mattresses per team from Thursday to Saturday night
Bring your own bedding and pillow. A sleeping bag and a blanket is recommended as nights are chilly in August

Pre-payments will be preferred via EFT or SnapScan (details of which will be provided when making a booking). Possibility for payments will be available during the race as well via SnapScan or cash.
